Are you a hands-on technician with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for precision? Our client in Biggleswade is on the lookout for a Cable Technician to join their team in a permanent role.
If you’ve got experience building cable assemblies, wiring looms, or umbilicals—and you know your way around soldering irons and crimping tools—this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
What You’ll Need:
- Some previous experience in electronic or mechanical assembly working on cable assemblies, looms, or umbilicals.
- Confidence in stripping, soldering, crimping, and terminating cable ends—and knowing the difference between a good and bad joint.
- Familiarity with heat shrink, sleeving, braiding products, cable markers, labels, and ties.
- Skilled in using hand tools and automated wire prep equipment.
- Ability to follow wiring diagrams, samples, and written procedures to build cables to spec.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Good eyesight, a steady hand, and a strong sense of precision.
- Bonus points for experience with varied cable termination methods and broader electronics knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build custom cable assemblies, wiring looms, harnesses, conduits, and umbilicals.
- Assemble, wire, and test products based on customer drawings, wiring schedules, or procedures.
- Assist with updating build notes, drawings, or documentation as needed.
- Perform any other relevant tasks that support the production team.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00
- Overtime may be available at the employer’s discretion.
