Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Warehouse Manager to oversee daily warehouse operations within their organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the warehouse staff. Optimising workflow, including receiving storing picking and despatching goods. Ensuring safety, compliance and efficiency at all times. Liaising with all transport providers. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, warehouse systems, and process optimisation to support the company's growth and operational excellence.
Main Duties:
- Operational Management: Directing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.
- Stock Control: Maintaining accurate stock levels through regular counts and using warehouse management systems (WMS) and optimising space.
- Team Leadership: Supervising warehouse staff, setting targets, managing holiday and absences effectively, conducting appraisals, and training employees.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensuring compliance with health and safety and product safety, and maintaining a clean, secure, safe, environment.
- Logistics & Maintenance: Coordinating with transporters and suppliers, managing maintenance of warehouse machinery and company fleet.
Other Duties:
- Grow and develop a real product safety culture across all functions in collaboration with the Compliance Manager.
- Establish, follow and enforce safety standards and procedures in compliance with a healthy work environment and legal requirements.
- Attend monthly/weekly meetings with senior staff. Hold weekly toolbox talks with warehouse staff.
- Operate the warehouse to a BRCGS and FSC quality management system.
- Create and update SOP’s as and when necessary.
Requirements:
- Must have a positive, flexible attitude with a focus on providing first class service levels to our customers both internally and externally and able to work well under pressure.
- Proven experience in warehouse management with solid logistics experience, with at least 7 years of experience required.
- Strong team management and communication skills with a hands on approach to motivate a small team and solve problems.
- Data entry and data processing skills.
- Knowledge of BRCGS and/or FSC an advantage·
- Forklift Licences – preferably pivot and counterbalance.
- Detail and deadline oriented.
Hour of work: Monday to Thursday. 08:00 - 17:00 hours. Friday 07:00 - 16:00 hours.
