We are seeking a skilled Brake Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating brake press machinery. This role involves the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal components, ensuring precision and quality in every product produced. The Brake Press Operator will work closely with other team members to meet production goals while adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate brake press machinery to bend and form sheet metal according to specifications.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine the correct tooling and settings required for each job.
• Set up tooling and fixtures for production runs, ensuring proper alignment and calibration.
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting equipment for wear or damage.
• Use hand tools for grinding, welding, assembling, and fabricating components as needed.
• Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specified tolerances and standards.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Brake Press Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and understanding of tooling requirements for press brake operations.
• Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to production tasks.
• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating good communication skills.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
