We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Blade/ Composite Technician to join our clients MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) workshop. The successful candidate will carry out repairs, maintenance, and painting of composite and fibreglass blades, working in accordance with company procedures and OEM manuals. This role may occasionally require on-aircraft work, including travel.
Responsibilities
Hands-on work within the MRO workshop, carried out in line with company procedures and OEM manuals, and will include:
- Carrying out composite propeller blade repairs.
- Installing metallic compound leading edges.
- Conducting on-aircraft repairs, which may include travel abroad.
- Performing fibreglass and carbon fibre work.
- Undertaking painting processes during repair or overhaul.
- Carrying out blade machining and balancing operations.
- Masking, preparing, and painting blades and components.
- Cleaning products.
- Inspecting all relevant components and identifying items for scrap, rework, or refit, with reference to relevant product information and OEM manuals.
- Reviewing and implementing service information.
- Maintaining a general understanding of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
- Working effectively within a small team with minimal supervision.
- Taking responsibility for their own work.
- Demonstrating a strong work ethic and pride in workmanship.
- Performing any other reasonable tasks required by management.
Person Specification
The Technician will ideally have previous experience in an engineering or hand-crafting role, such as carpentry. We are looking for someone with good hand skills, high dexterity, and attention to detail. Experience in the aviation industry is highly desirable, as is experience with composites, fibreglass, and painting. Full consideration will be given to training a ‘Trainee Technician’ if the right candidate is found.

Salary: £31,000 – £34,000 (DOE)
Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00-17:00
