Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Electrical Operative to join our Electrical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling electrical components and sub-assemblies in accordance with technical drawings, wiring schematics, and work instructions. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the quality and functionality of our final products. With full training provided, there is excellent potential for progression to electrical wiring and testing of finished products.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble electrical sub-components including wiring looms, terminal blocks, switches, relays, and connectors.
• Follow technical drawings, circuit diagrams, and verbal instructions to build sub-assemblies accurately and efficiently.
• Perform crimping and cable routing to a high standard.
• Conduct basic testing and inspection of sub-assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Identify and report faulty components or assembly issues to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area and adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times.
• Complete all required documentation and production records accurately.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production targets and deadlines.

Requirements

• Previous experience in electrical assembly, sub-assembly, or a similar manufacturing role is not essential as full training will be provided.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical documents is an advantage (training provided).
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Competent in the use of hand tools and basic electrical assembly equipment.
• Basic understanding of health and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures.

Desirable Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, or equivalent.
